Working in mixed media, often with items I found on the street or in the tip shop, I aim to give new life and meaning to what is salvaged.

The Cupboard Conspiracy 1985

Solo Exhibition at the Adelaide Festival Centre Artspace.

Working with salvaged cupboards redesigned and assembled as a kind of miniature town square, I created a grouping of themed spatial presences each with an outer persona and an interior state or psychology revealed by opening the doors.

Although the themes included love, beauty, death, boredom, anger and narcissism, I was able to adapt each cupboard as a vehicle of storytelling for visiting children’s groups, improvising tales and fables that culminated in opening to reveal the outcome of the narrative.
